"As you may imagine, quality of frags will increase as quantity lowers."

Seems like it would be the opposite? Or perhaps I am misunderstanding. If I buy less the quality will increase?

same total price but less frags = higher quality corals is my understanding.

Yep that’s exactly it. You could buy a battle box for $300 and get 10 nice frags but would not be high end or you could get 6 frags of all high end.

So...............using your logic, it's more advantageous to buy 5 $200 boxes and get 20-40 pieces as opposed to 1 $1000 box of 15-25 pieces?

Depends if you are a high end collector. Personally I would take 10 high end corals over 20 everyday corals. Everyone has personal taste.

It would be the same in 5 boxes or 1...

More money, less frag, higher end pieces

Same money, more frags, lower end pieces

Example:

Hey Adam, let me get a $300 box with 8-10 frags - (these will be nice, but mid range and common pieces)

Hey Adam, let me get a $300 box with 4 frags - (these will be higher end more sought after pieces)

It's possible the word "quality" is being misunderstood here and perhaps should be read as "value"... there is no such thing as a low "quality" frag from Adam

Each battlebox has different options in the pull down menus. You can order the $300 battlebox with either 4, 6, 8, or 10 corals. If you choose the 4 coral option, you get 4 of the highest quality corals (at approx $75/frag). If you choose to get 10 corals you obviously get lower quality corals (at $30/frag).

Thanks a lot for the post. Ultimately it's not that complicated really. I don't have any strict rules with these boxes other than that you are 100% happy with what you receive. And will take as many steps as necessary to ensure that

I do always go over selection specifics with customers as well, and will generally take any direction I can get as far as that goes.

And here's the pitch,

Any way you slice it, the boxes are a tremendous deal compared to ordering individual pieces off the site. That is because I am able to pick pieces that are looking the best and doing the best, as opposed to a teeny nub from something that I have very little of, and need to eke out for an order. I have amassed thousands of frags from all facets of my collection, cut and well encrusted, and ready for any size box, that can ship the same day no problem. So for example, in a row of 10 Aquatic Man frags, I will always pull the larger, nicer-looking frag for Battleboxes.

The only reason I haven’t ordered a battlebox lately is because ALL of the corals in my past two battleboxes are going great!
