I put my first fish and coral in my growout setup today. I wonder if the bliss will go straight in the new setup or if I will chicken out? It's only 3 weeks old with all dry rock, so we will see! I'm betting on it going in my main display frag tank.
Sounds like a plan!

Nice tank!

I would love to go bare bottom and have Zoas grow on the bottom of the tank.
I've gone attached to my bluethroat triggers though; they lay eggs in the sand monthly. It is very cool to watch.

Good Luck.
Thank You. Isn’t it interesting all the things that we do or don’t do to try to make them all happy.
What a hobby
Good luck as well

About 20 months. Hurricane won the first battle.

I lost a 15 year old maroon clown and everything that had come out of a 40 gallon. Into my 100 gallon now 2017, then Irma passed . So March of 2018 I started it again and here we are today :)

I ordered a battle box like most people. Begged for the Bubblebath Unicorn but he was out. I settled for the aquatic-man table and Left the rest to him. Made sure I told him what I already had. Lol.
Yeah, ordered one too. I asked for 2 things and let him pick out the others. I'm more anxious to see what I get than anything else.

I am. It's too easy to mess up. I am considering orphek LEDs just because I am an equipment junkie.

I was considering going with that setup, 8 x 80w ati fixture with one or two reef rights for the shimmer and pop.

I've joined this contest knowing that as a newbie, that I'll likely lose. But I'm joining the fun anyway because that is just it...fun. I can't wait. btw -- I'm a shaggy gal! :p

You should be fine. Just give it what it needs and let it be. Nature will take its course and who knows what the outcome may be!

Yea it sucks losing stuff to Mother Nature. I lost a ton of fish and coral to Hurricane Hermine including my crosshatch trigger and blotched anthias. I let the tank sit empty until May of 2017 when I finally felt like trying again.

Just went through Florence. Thank God I had a generator. Ran it 24 7. It cost about $30 a day, but I would have lost thousands if I didn't. Tank got up to upper 80's. Got a cooler, filled with ice, found a pump and circulated the water through it slowly. Got the temp down. A few days later the electricity came back on. Whew!

I was ready for the Hurricanes of 2017 & 2018. I’ve lost power every year and thankfully I have a generator now.

Another expense. But you have to have one. Especially in hurricane probe areas.

I did the same thing.

I had a generator ready for the days without power but when She(Irma), kept tracking West, and Friday midday report came out and we were the first ones going to get hit, I told my wife to pack a suitcase that we had to get out of Key West. 13 days without being able to get back in the islands after the storm, no one would’ve been able to save my tank. Really sucked but now we here again and enjoying the hobby like always

I'll be gone on vacation from Feb 3 - 11 and was wondering if that's the week the frags are shipped if it matter that I delay mine a week?

We still haven't picked a shipping week. But if your out of town it's not a big deal. You'll just have an extra week after everyone else ends
