This is the last bit of the cyano in the front right of the rock. Almost all of these palys were closed due to the Dino's attached to their stems.
Now they're all open and happy finally.
My sunny ds were really covered and did not open for the whole month. Thankfully they didn't melt. I lost heads of other zoas but they weren't expensive ones.
My purple hornets, red pe, and devils armor were also really affected by it and weren't open forever. This is them now.
Still some cyano Ina low flow area on the back right. All polyps are open on everything!
Oh yeah the Mohawks were all closed up and shriveled at first too. Now they are like nothing ever happened
These dudes were all closed the whole time too, I knew I was going to loose all of them. Only a few melted
Hopefully this gives someone hope out there.
Took me almost two months of fighting to keep the corals uncovered and alive while scraping and dosing and cleaning by the hour.
Something I did worked and my tank is finally back to where it was before the outbreak.
Oh I also added 10 more large Astraea snails to the tank. That helped too.
Another side note I just remembered, as the Dino's died a red turf algae started forming on my rocks. So as the Dino's died and the cyano multiplied the red turf algae started covering all the rocks where the Dino's were. Then the snails ate the red turf algae.
Finally just the cyano was left and feeding cutbacks with aggressive skimming and large amounts of GFO running, I choked it back.
Hopefully this helps
