Need some help. Not overtaking the tank just one big live rock is covered. I feed a small dime of rods food every other day plus like five pellets. I use ro water and I also have a protein skimmer running. Is it okay to clean all the algae off with a soft brush? Or will this cause it to come back stronger . Any help is appreciated

Here's a photo

Hard to tell with the colors, but it looks like either a lime green cyano or that start of purple coralline.

It's legit green algae that scrubs off all over the rock.

How old is the tank?
Have you tried any Phosguard or Phosban?
Have you tried adding some Cerith or Astrea type snails? Stomatella would love to eat that film algae.
How long is the photo-period?

Photo period is leds and about 8 1/2 hours a day, I have not used phosban on this system yet. Could I put it in a low to no flow area in my hob skimmer? I do have 3 cerith and 2 astrea, do I need more?

Yes you can use the product passively I just place it under an over flow. Yes you can add more snails if there is algae for them to eat which there seems to be. Try to get someone to hook you up with some stomatella snails.

I have the same thing going on but nothing is eating it. In fact the hermetic crabs and snails have moved away from it
