Bayer dip for corals attached to rock?

Today I got some mushroom corals on a piece of rock. Previously I have dipped corals in Bayer, but I am wondering if I shouldn't do this with the live rock. Will it absorb the Bayer and release it into my tank (despite rinsing first)?

I've seen a couple of mentions of this, but not sure if I've seen an answer everyone agrees on. [emoji23]

If I shouldn't dip, any recommendations for keeping pests out of the main tank? (I don't normally QT corals since I've previously dipped them...I do have a QT tank I can use that I've used for fish, but I only have pretty basic lights for it, that I can swipe from my freshwater tanks...)

It will kill bacteria on the rock making it dead rock. If it's a small rock and you have a large tank it's probably ok.

Assuming it’s a tiny rock, you can dip it and then give it a rinse in a bath of tank water, swish it around and then put it in the DT and it should be fine. One time I accidentally spilled coral dip into my tank (just a tiny bit) and nothing happened, so the small amount absorbed by the rock should be negligible.

Yea the dip getting into DT isn't an issue. It's the die off that is a concern.
