Bayer dip melted mushroom and Xenia?

So a few weeks ago I purchased a standard rhodactis mushroom, some zoas and a purple hairy mushroom from my lfs.

Everything looked great in the store and I only live 20 min from the store. After temp acclimating I dipped them in bayer like usual, but the purple hairy looked terrible and melted away in the next 24 hours. All the other corals have continued to do great.

Fast forward to a couple of days ago. I ordered 2 mushroom frags, some zoas and Xenia from Unique corals. Everything looked great when it arrived, but after the bayer dip the Xenia has slowly melted and has now all died. Like before the other mushrooms and zoas are doing great.

Is the bayer to blame? Or do you think something else is going on here?

Xenia is one of the easiest, but most picky corals. Some people can grow them like weeds, and others they just melt (and in quick order).

The purple hairy mushroom is not so sensitive.

Do you have the ability to QT and watch those corals before making it into your main system? Specifically for those two corals anyway. I would have no reservations on using bayer for zoas, rhodactis, or any LPS/SPS.
