Bayer dip protocols

I do 1.5 mL per ounce of water. 15 minutes in the dip, 15 minutes in tank water to rinse. Agitate in both baths.

I really just eyeball it until it looks barely milky and dip for about 15 minutes. Never had an issue with SPS or LPS, acans and the like even start opening up while in the dip.

- No Coral (And I mean no Coral) goes into my Tank without an Aggressive Bayer Dip for 15 Minutes.
- Then I check for Eggs with a High Powered Magnifying Glass with a Built in LED Light Used by Coin Collectors.
- Bayer Kills the Pests but Does NOT Kill the Eggs.

4 Ounces of Bayer for 1 Gallon Saltwater.
Powerhead (Koralia 240).
I also use a Turkey Baster.

P.S. I put a 6 Line Wrasse in Every Tank as they LOVE to Eat Pests. Without Fail Every Time I add a New Frag the 6 Line Wrasse Swims Over and Sticks His Nose in Every Nook and Cranny Inspecting for Pests. These Guys are AMAZING and Every Tank Tank Should have a 6 Line Wrasse for Pest Control!

This is the one you want.

I stopped measuring it all together and just started pouring it in my dipping container and didn't stop till the water turned a milky white. I will dip the coral for 15-20 minutes with a small circulation pump. Then rinse very very well with saltwater. I've done this many times and so far never had a problem. I guess what I'm trying to say is if you think you added to much chances are your going to be fine!!

Agree with others. Started with 10ml per 4 oz water, but now just dump and dip - usually 10-15 minutes. I personally do a double rinse with display water.

As you can tell from the responses, no one has actually done effective dose studies. But what it does tell you is that Bayer must be pretty gentle on the corals when folks are just dumping this stuff like holy water.

I use what one of the very early youtube videos had.....one milliliter of Bayer to 100 mls of tank water. I typically make 300 mls for one to three frags. I've never had a problem using this dose on any corals.

As far as the "look" of the bottle, note that the newer bottles that I've seen, the labels are now predominately white.

Here is the actual bottle of stuff I have that was purchased a good number of years ago....with predominately black label.
