Quick question. My local wal mart only carried the bayer advanced insect killer for lawns. They don't have the complete version. Is this the same thing?

First of all, welcome to R2R.

I don't believe it's the same product and would be hesitant to use it until you know for sure. Let's see if @redfishbluefish or @mdbannister might know for sure. I believe Lowes is still carrying the Bayer Complete, but I think HD has dropped it, at least in my area.

Thank you for the welcome. Been meaning to join this site. Yes I'm going to hold back until I get some more info.

That is not the right stuff.....you want Bayer Advanced Complete Insect Killer (For Soil & Turf - Concentrated). It contains two active ingredients:

Imidacloprid.......0.72%
B-Cyfluthrin........0.36%

Ok thanks for the help. Will definitely try to track down the right one then.

It's pretty variable- one of the best writeups used 10 ml/4 ounces, but I've seen reefers use as little as 1 ml/4 ounces. I haven't noticed any poor effects from a 3-5 minute dip, so I usually shoot for 5-10 ml/4 ounces depending on the type of sps.

what is the dilution to mix in order to dip sps ?

You've opened up a can of worms! Check out THIS thread. If you're in a rush, page 3, post #55 has a summary.

I use 1 ml per 100 mls of tank water for about 15 minutes followed by two rinses with tank water.
