Bayer as a dip has been used by some with great success for various years now. Wondering if anyone remembers the recommended dose and time? Anyone have negative side effects?

Marke,

its all over this forum. Search is your friend.. I use it religiously. I usually do 4Ml per cup of tank water. I dip zoas and SPS. be sure to rinse twize in two seperate fresh water containers.

I use 5ml of bayer per cup of tank water and dip for 10 minutes.

From my local forum, there are people who don't even measure. The quote is "I just put it in there until it's milky, I haven't lost a coral yet".

There are tons of information on how people are using this dip, it's all varied.

5, 10, 15, and 20 ml per cup I tried it all even dipping time up to 30min.
No side effects.
All you need to do after wards is rinsing in a bucket of tank water for a good amount of time.
Make a note, Bayer will kill all and everything except eggs especially AEFW and Redbug eggs.
For that you need to QT your corals and dip every week for three weeks to break the cycle.
Removing the frag plug and applying a new plug will help too to reduce the chance on pest eggs after the dip.

That's what I am seeing. There is no proper dose? It's all over the board, and it all seems to work? Aa for eggs I can see were they are tough! Question. Do red bugs have eggs? Thought that was a myth? Dr T. Good article!

I use 3 tablespoons in 32 ounces tank water for 10, or 15 minutes for acropora. If you soak a coral that is on a rock you have to understand that rock has absorbed some poison that you don't want in your aquarium! Frags on plugs can get a quick rinse in tank water, and right back in the aquarium, but that rock needs to be placed in a separate container with a pump circulating tank water for a while to get that poison out of the rock!
