So I want to do a Bayer dip on some corals (first corals ever, I'm getting some zoas). The question is, bayer had their merger. Is the bio advanced complete insect killer the exact same thing as the bayer advanced? Personal experience would be great to hear about. I want to be sure I've got the right stuff.

Do a search there are several threads on this subject that answered this very question.
Look at the Bayer product recommended and then match the ingredients.
I am not at home so I cant snap a pic of the stuff and post it.

Be careful though.

Yeah I wanted to do exactly that but I'm having a hard time getting a high enough resolution picture of the Bayer to compare. Have you used coral rx? I might just go with that instead, it also seems like less of a risk for fish and cuc.

Coral Rx is basically an Iodine dip.
Iodine as you probably know is more for sterilizing things and or infection prevention.

The Bayer dip is for killing off hitchhikers and the like so not a comparison per se.

The coral rx literature says it has no iodine in it, just natural extracts. If that's no good for hitchhikers, what well known purpose made coral dips are?

Coral Rx is not iodine.

FWIW I dip with bayer and coral Rx at regular strength each.

The biggest thing is your eyes and inspecting closely.
Using a magnifying glass can and will help.

Also quarantining them.

I find it best to QT them and observe for two weeks.
Then see if any treatment may be required.

I said it was BASICALLY IODINE. I did not say it was.
No matter it is not a hitchhiker killer but a cure for cuts, and infection or the potential for infection when fragging.
Many will use Iodine instead of Coral Rx, for the same purposes.

Yeah sorry didn't mean to come off as if you'd said it was iodine. Can you do both the Bayer and also coral rx at the same time? In the same bath?

I don't have scientific clue.
But I would not, as I am not a chemist and have no idea the potential for chemical reactions and the outcome.
