Hello just starting my first saltwater tank. I have a question are the beneficial bacteria in freshwater the same as in salt water . I was thinking that i could use some BB from my freshwater tank to kick start my saltwater tank .

no. you'll just give yourself problems. Also, keep all dip nets, equipment, etc completely separate (unless you clean and dry them really well).
just get some live rock or a bottled bacteria product. what are you using as a substrate? what kind of rock are you using?
