Anyone have any hints or plans or anything to make a DIY screen top?? I finally got my new light, SB Reef SBox Sprite, and I have a new wrasse and I'm worried he'll try to make a leap of faith. I thought about cutting and gutting the stock hood but I've got plans of selling this tank and picking up one of those fancy new Abyss dropoffs from Innovative Marine. Any way, help would be appreciated.

I use egg crate or the plastic light diffusers. You can just cut it to size.

Then spray black with Krylon paint.

Use the egg crate, cut it to size then cut out as much of the center as you can. Zip tie 1/4 inch netting to the bottom of the screen. Basically using egg crate for the frame of the top.

Many wrasses can get through the holes in egg crate, and egg crate will reduce the light. It was very noticeable shadows to me when I used egg crate across the entire tank.

+1 on the netting. I had clownfish jump through but luckily saw it and saved him.
