I have a set question on the bean overflow. I'm gonna change my 1 1/2" drains. Slow the display return.
If I keep the emgr drains at 1 1/2" and run a 1" full syphon, do I really have to put a valve on it???
If I run a DC pump on the return, can't I use the pump settings to set the full syphon vs running the pump full blast and using a valve??

You want a valve because you never want your main drains at 100% valve open. Any fluctuations or increases in the pump output over time would result in your drains not being able to handle the flow as they are already going at 100%. I don't ever put a valve on the emergency drain - there is no need. I want that emergency line wide open all the time in case it has to be utilized.

You want to dial the plumbing via a gate valve and adjust according to your return pump settings.

I kinda wanna play with this idea. I don't want to flood my hard wood floors. 3600gph @ time I go from up stairs to basement ='s a lot of water on my hard wood floors.
Edit note. Maybe I need remote power off switch.

I'm not sure I follow.... your gate valves should be located on your overflow lines by your tank. Start with them wide open if your sump is in the basement, turn the return pump on, go upstairs and then dial the gate valves in so that you achieve full siphon.

If tuned correctly, regardless if there is a power-outage or full siphon is lost, the system should always return to full siphon by itself.

How many overflow lines do you have? I'm guessing you have two?

Running two. Good call. I went 1" on one no valve one 1 1/4" valves. The other 4 is 1 1/2" emgr
