Obviously you guys cant see how my setup is going to be, but i have a 220 gallon 72x24x30 tank, and I wanted to hear from people with be an animal setup. What valves and fittings do I need? How has the setup treated you so far? I have so far inch bulkheads and am planning on making 1.75 inch holes in my tank and using 1 inch pipes. Any advice is appreciated.

A gravity fed 1" pipe will flow aprox 960gph

Use a gate valve for flow control on your main drain and not a ball valve.

Okay, I am planning using the 1 inch bulkhead and using a 1.5 inch adapter then.

I read on be an animals page his does 2200 gph with 1 inch pipe?
Bean says:
This setup, with the 1" bulkheads and 1.5" down plumbing will easily handle 2000 GPH
