*BE CAREFUL* when buying used Ecotech products

Just got off the phone with an Ecotech support agent and she confirmed that their warranty does not carry over to next buyer.
Meaning, if you purchase a few days used MP40 and it malfuction, you will either have to ship to them to have serviced (pay both shipping and service fees) or get a new unit.
It's like buying a car and losing the 3 years warranty if I sell it after a day.
I should have bought another Kessil or an ATI sunpower!:mad:

Had that happen to me. Bought a still sealed MP-60 from someone local to me and it didn't work right out of the box. I had to send to them for service and was told the same thing. So much for a good deal.

I think this is true of almost all aquarium equipment manufacturers you make it sound like the exception rather than the rule?

He's not but there are tons of people on here that are under the impression that Ecotech marine carries it over as a courtesy. I have seen it mentioned and discussed countless times and they may have in the past unofficially but don't anymore. He's trying to spread that so everyone is aware.

I'd purchased 2 kessil products second hand, they replaced both items with brand new units when I called without much questions

What got me mad was how this lady (tech support) handled the situation and the way she spoke to me, really sounded like she was having a bad day. At least the second person I spoke to was calm, polite and professional (Chris Fernadez) and helped solve my light issues...Thanks Chris.
