So I am getting a beach bum montipora this weekend relatively cheap and I am wondering where I should place it in my tank. I am thinking high flow and in the 330 par area of my rockwork. Would that be good enough for this monti? Or should I hit lower par?

Frag rack it 3-4 days. Then slowly move it higher. Glue it on once it’s acclimated and happy, and where you want it. Regular lighting should be fine since acclimated low.

Every tank is different. But I put my kung pao (also a yellow Montipora Palawanensis) on the frag rack in about 200 par for a couple weeks until it recovered from shipping. Once it looked normal I put it on the sandbed directly under the lights. It gets about 350 par

Any pics of this stuff, all I ever see is tiny frags for $300

That’s common among most the yellow/orange/pink palawanensis species you find from vendors. They still heavily over value them. It’s easy to find just about any of them for under 100 with a little looking.

Online anywhere from $180-300 from other hobbyists I've found $80-120. I'm surprised I found this guy for 60

That’s about what I paid for my kung pao. On the rare occasions I frag it (these really do grow ALOT slower than caps or digi) I typically sell for $75-100 a frag that will roughly cover the plug

We have them in our store under the sea aquatics for $50 each lots of great coral to choose from

Wow I am doing an auction with one and it sitting at 6.50 right now! Can I put other encrusting sps with it like cyphastrea and electric daisy stylo. I have a bunch of tongas against back wall that have all zoas so far and not sure what else to put there so thought of encrusting.

Hey there. You've had this for a while so I bet you can answer my question. What's the growth habit of this Monti? I'm looking for a plating coral as opposed to encrusting. I can't find any pics of mature specimens.
