Beach style tank

Has anyone done, or know of someone who has, a tank with a shallow end they comes out of the water with a reef in the deeper end? I am wondering if it’s possible or would a wave maker going from deep to shallow to make the waves would simply erode the “beach”.

Years ago (I believe it was Oceanic) made such a tank. Few were sold, so they scratched the concept

Would be interested to see this concept. I have a lot of rock work out of the top of my water line. Love watching the hermits and snails play on them.
