Well, I guess I've built enough to get a build thread started. This is where I'm at. I'm sure I've missed stuff, but I'll update as I go .

Tank: Standard 40b from the dollar per gallon sale. Drilled for overflow and return, back painted black.

Stand: TBD, and my biggest holdup. I'd really like a 6' x 2" steel stand so that I can upgrade to a 180 down the road, but I also just want to get the tank up and running, which means towards a plywood stand.

Sump: Trigger Systems Amethyst 34.

Filtration: Skimz SN123, DIY macroalgae reactor, Ecotech Vectra M1 return pump

Flow: Jaebo RW-4 x 2

Lighting:. SB Reeflink, SBox Pro 32"

Misc: Modular Marine 16" overflow, Tunze Osmolator 3155 ATO, Trigger Systems ATO resivoir, Eheim Jager 100w heaters x 2, BRS Carbon/GFO mini reactor, Bubble Magus doser, DIY dosing containers.

As you can tell, this is in progress. I'm hoping to have the shed finished by the end of the holiday weekend, and to start on the plumbing next week.

Thanks. I've still not managed to convince the kids that I'm not actually building them a playhouse. Guess I've got another project coming up.
I completely understand! I've got 3&4 year old boys and anytime I get the saw and drill out..."Daddy what are you making for me???" :)

Broke and bought a Profilux while they're on sale. I'm excited and a bit intimidated at the same time.

Unfortunately I didn't get to work on the shed today, but hopefully I can get the exterior sheeting and roof done tomorrow.

Well, I got most of the shed insulation in before I had a kitchen disaster. Spent the last 3 days rebuilding half of my kitchen. Hopefully I can get back to work on my shed this weekend. With any luck, I'll have the structure completed and be able to move on to electrical and plumbing soon after. I'll post some updated photos this evening.

In other news, my ProfiLux will be here tomorrow. I've also got a VarioS pump showing up that I may opt to use over the M1 as it is controllable using the ProfiLux. I really just need to get the stinking stand taken care of and I'm in business.

Anyone have experience with Tampa Bay Saltwater for live rock/sand? I'm really thinking about moving on that as soon as I get set up.

In the meantime, here are a few photos of various other things I've been working on for the tank:

Got more insulation done. Also got some of the inside sheeting done, and the shelf built with some help from the lil man. Want to finish all of the insulation and sheeting done this week so I can get the doors built and move on to plumbing and electrical.

Any updates? I am thinking of using modular marine for an overflow as well and want to see what it looks like and what you think of it. Looking good so far.

Unfortunately not much to report. Had a few more things come up at the house that took priority. Just about done there, so hopefully I get back on track in the next week or so. New door on my garage looks good though. I've got about half a day to finish the sheeting on the shed, and then I'll paint it along with the garage wall in one shot.
