How far under the surface of the water should the drains go in the sump? I've heard only a couple inches, but BRS just posted their video and I asked them and they have theirs 10"?? Now I'm confused, whats best/optimal?

+1... At too deep a level under the water surface you run the risk of creating back pressure because of the trapped air, would also recommend cutting a 45% angle on the tips of the drains that sit under the water to aid in this process.Full siphon shouldnt be more than a inch under the surface. Otherwise it might not start up on its own if its lower. I had this problem when I first set mine up years ago. I made it shorter and now it starts up every time. The other 2 pipes you can have at whatever length you feel is nessesary
