Is it Ok to have a Horizontal section in your plumbing when using a bean animal style drain? Doing my plumbing on Nuvo Int 75 and Trigger systems Triton 34 sump.

i have nearly the same setup, but with the 100G INT, i have my main drain with just 2 45 elbows, the 2nd drain uses a horizontal run, and the E drain into the return. its silent once you dial in the return/gate valve.

i think the INT line is amazing, but the distance from bottom of the tank to sump limits alot of options without going completely out of the way to plumb it. i scraped a manifold from the return since it would have cluttered up the space too much.

using the trigger 34 as well (amethyst series)

I was just worried about my main drain line if it would still create a full siphon. Because the Triton sump has all three inputs on the left side of the tank i have to use horizontal runs. Go from sump up 90 to back of tank, 90 to left and up and into bulkheads. are you running the Cor 15 or 20? i purchased the braided tubing for my return line. Debating using it vs hard plumbing it.

Using the cor20 plumbed 1.25” for about 8” then reduced to 3/4”

I forgot the Triton model moves the drains.

That's where im at so far. Still need to finish up the plumbing but do you think I will have any problems? Anything you would do different? Sorry phone glitched out, didn't mean to post that pic 3 times...

Is it all glued yet? iM recommends a gate valve for the main drain for better fine tuning. Not sure if needed but just a though. Looks nice and clean otherwise.

That is my main drain. Right? Main, return, secondary ,emergency? You should keep me posted on your build. I think we're like the only 2 out of 5 people on here with the INT. Have you decided on a skimmer yet?

I agree with the gate valve, very useful for tuning your flow. As for the elbows, I wouldn't worry about the 90s atall, I have one on two of my drains with no issues atall. One thing I can suggest as well is getting rid of the stainless steel clamps and replacing them with plastic ones.

I’m using the eshopps s-200. Oversized but should be a beast.

I know this system well. I’ve ran my last 5 tanks with a Bean. If you were to ask this question to Bean himself at RC, he would give you an answer along the lines of “it may work but it’s not ideal.” It’s true. It may work but it isn’t ideal. You want a straight drop into the sump. But I’ve tested the system with a short horizontal run, and didn’t have any issues personally. But I wouldn’t try it with a substantial horizontal run.

Can you not pitch the drain slightly? Even 1/4" per foot is enough.
