Bean animal for new project

Hi guys,

i'm starting with a new projects and id like to ask u a few questions about hot to set my bean animal overflow.

The tank will be 260cm*120cm*70hcm (2.500 l. net) with two long size and one short size visible and all the inlet and outlet will be on the short size of 120 cm: i will use a bubble king 300 supermarine with two pumps (6.000 l/h inlet max) and id like to use 2 return pump fluval SP6 2x13.000 l/h.

I'm going to do a marcorocks reesfcape that should stay in the centre of the tank with 30cm of free space in the right and 30 cm of free space on the left: i'm thinking to put a single gyre 350 centrally on the top and 2*mp60qd, one on the right and one on the left at 45-50cm of height.

Sure i want to use a bean animal overflow but i have no idea wich drains use: the problem is that i need a bean animal vain that should be smaller possible because i need to put pumps as i described before: so i imagine to do 2 bean animal vain one in the central-left and one in the central right, so i can put down the bean animal the two vortech and in the central the gyre.

Which diameter of drains do u whil use for two bean animal vains? 40mm or 50mm?

Every suggestions is well accepted.

That's is an idea pof my tank, pumps and bean animal positions: i have do decide the hight of the mean animal and the correct positions of the drains and the size of the drains.

I imagine to do 50mm the main drainand 40mm the second drain and the ssafety drain, what do u think about?

Do u think that 15 cm of height should be enouph for the bean animal? from the top of the tank to the end?

What do you mean by "bean animal vain"?

You need 1 full siphon (40mm or 50mm for that size tank) that you put a gate valve on to control flow. You can have 2 of them if you want to split the overflow. Then there is a little durso standpipe (25mm or less would be fine) with an air silencer that just a trickle of water goes down. You adjust the gate valve(s) until it doesn't make any noise.

For a true bean animal, you also want an emergency drain (with 2500L, you *don't* want that going onto your floor). 40mm or 50mm or even bigger is fine. Normally, no water is ever going down this; if there is water in the emergency drain something went wrong.

• 15cm height (is enouph)? from the top of the tank, including the hole where water goes down, to the end
• 10-12 cm wide

About the drains, i'm thinking to do:

1. main drain (n°1 in the pic) 50mm
2. second drain (n°2 in the pic) 40mm
3. security drain (n°3 in the pic) 40mm
