Bean animal full siphon gurgling

I’m trying to fine tune my drain.

Right now the full siphon is gurgling inside my overflow box. I’ve tried opening the gate valve and closing it. I’ve also tried different settings on my return pump. I have a vectra L1 and even at full power is makes the slurping sound.

Any help would be appreciated. It’s super loud currently.

Can you take a picture of your overflow?

Did you try closing the gate valve all the way and slowly opening it? Sounds like you may have air in it or maybe a snail?

Can’t tell from the picture... but the primary (siphon) should be lower that the secondary, and the gate valve should be on the primary drain.
 
Yes the primary is slightly lower and the gate is on the primary.
 
I assume the primary is on the left (without the vent hole). Is the primary sucking air (whirl pool)? I’m thinking the primary is too high... can you add a 1” or 2” pipe to the primary downturned fitting to see if it makes any difference?
 
“The main valve standpipe will work at almost any height you make it as long as its lower than the emergency standpipe. However this is true only to an extent. Help the Siphon get going on it’s own — by having the height of your main valve standpipe inlet about 6″ deeper than the operating water level of the overflow, usually the height of the emergency standpipe inlet.

A sufficient volume of water above the siphon inlet prevents air sucking down from the surface into the pipe, sometimes referred to as a Vortex. If one forms, it creates a slurping noise. They will also interfere with the line going into full-siphon.

6″ is a general rule. It is based on the rough dimensions of many overflow boxes.

Keep in mind though, it is not as much about how deep, but rather how much water volume is above the siphon inlet. More water volume above the inlet = more water forcing the air down the drain to create the siphon effect.”
