Why does my main drain occasional have a burst of flow of air/bubbles?
It's quiet for a minute then slosh here it comes again.

Sometimes the water coming over the weir generates bubbles and they get sucked into the drain.

The other possibility is a vortex is forming and letting air into the drain.

I have a 2 inch full syphon drain that sprays fine bubbles all the time. The joints down in the sump arent glued and it is sucking air in through one of them.
