Hey R2R...so I thought I had the leak points in my bean animal overflow figured out, but apparently I don't. I bought the system from another gentleman who had upgraded tanks .The overflow box is the only thing that's give me troubles. Two things...what solutions do you have to finally solve for the leak and do you know of anyone that could create me a custom bean overflow to match the current one I have. For now I've turned off the return pump until I can figure this leak out. I don't have any fish/corals in it yet as the system is only 6 weeks old, but I do have a clean up crew in it and working their magic. #frustrated.

If I use an acrylic sealant on the inside of the bean animal drain box, will that be safe for the system after it dries? I'm thinking about just sealing all of the seals inside the box.

That does sound frustrating. I bet if you take us a couple pictures and point out to us which parts exactly are leaking, we could help you figure out a permanent solution. :)

Have any pictures of the overflow?

Yes.

The second picture down...the leak is coming from the lower right hand corner of the box. I'm thinking if I just reseal the outside and inside of the box I should be able to fix it...well, I hope.

I can't really tell because pictures aren't perfect, but I'd suspect a leaking bulkhead before a leaking box. I say that because the o-rings in bulkheads are sorta famous for leaking after a move. Can you see a crack or is that just where you can first see the water? If you don't see obvious damage, I'd suggest taking it all apart, getting new o-rings (unless you replaced them during the move), and cleaning all sealing surfaces thoroughly. Just a grain of sand can cause a nice little dribble.

I did get new o rings after the move, I took the overflow box off and resealed everything with weld-on 16...put it back together and it still leaks...which leads me to believe it's the O-rings. I"m going to disassemble it all again, clean off the o-rings really well and the tank wall to make sure it's a smooth surface and put it back together and hopefully that will do it.
