Bean Animal Plumbing

Hey all,

I get the basic concept of how the bean animal plumbing style should be built inside the overflow box, but I am struggling with what the piping should look like behind and underneath the tank.

Do I need gate valves both elbowed pipes? Just the first outlet?

On my Herbie style, which is similar to the bean, I have a gate valve on the main pipe that does all the draining. The emergency pipe does not have a valve but I don't think it would hurt to have since you are freshly plumbing, just leave it wide open.

Gate valve only goes on the main drain. The second one should be unimpeded and the 3rd will most likely always be dry.
