I couldn't find a plumbing thread, but also didn't look super hard being I'm at work.

My overflow is plumbed for the bean animal. Everything works great until I shut my pump down. When I go to start it back up(after feeding or WC) the main line doesn't pull a full syphon unless I take the pvc pipe I have in the sump bulkhead delivering the water to below the surface.

If I remove the pipe it will go directly into the syphon and I can replace it later. Is the pipe from the bulkhead to beneath the water surface too long(10-12" to bring the water 5-6" below the surface)? What else could be the issue?

Can add pictures later if it will help.

The outlet pipe of the main overflow is 6" below the surface in your sump? If so, this is likely the problem. I shoot to have my drains about an inch below the surface of the water level in the sump at most.
