Bean animal question

Having some issues dialing in bean animal can someone please explain what the depth of the two pipes in the sump need to be and why? I just researched and seen where that’s a factor and mine may be too deep being the culprit of my problems thank you

Kinda depends on how much water we are pushing and the drop.

It drops vertical out of the overflow maybe 2 1/2 feet then I did double 45 fittings to 90 into a horizontal for maybe a foot then double 45 90s straight into top of overflow. And both primary and secondary are 4.5 inches under sump water level. I had it tuned in just right and last night did a test to see if my sump would hold all the water in case of an outage. When I started back up it didn’t go back to running the same and literally took me 3 hours of playing with it today to get it back stabilized. Currently it is running great.

2" of pipe extending under water when the pumps are running seems to be the sweet spot.

It's Probably not stabilizing because you have too much pipe in the water which doesn't allow all of the air to purge out properly. Without a full purge you don't have a full siphon. Can't start dialing it in without your main under full siphon.

Just for fun you might want to cut if off again, and rather than fiddle with it for 3 hours, see whether within 1 or 2 days it returns to an acceptable state (equilibrium) all on it’s own. Then you will know.

I thought about doing this bud god it was loud lol I am going to cut the pipes tonight or tomorrow and see if there’s improvement thank you for the help

Can you see into the chamber where your pipes dump?

You'll know it's fully cleared off air When you don't have any more bubbles coming out. This can take a while. After shortening the dump off tubes, You're likely going to need to start from scratch with tuning it so go ahead and open the gate which should help clear it quicker. Then start tuning the full siphon gate closed incrementally until you have their correct amount of overflow your secondary.

Have the tank running for a While before starting. You want to simulate what it's going to be running 99.9% of the time. Not upon fresh startup.

Yes I can see in the chamber and both lines currently have bubbles. But the overflow is currently stable and running quiet

Once the full siphon is running clear, you should be good to start tuning it.

If it gets to be over 15 minutes and you still have air coming through your lines, it's time to troubleshoot.
