Hailing all bean animal experts, I need plumbing input. The hard facts, my over flow sits about 52”. When the pipes leave the stand they can be no higher than 18” and I have a 8’ horizontal run to the sump in the closet. Looking for the best possible option for quiet operation.

Option A. Run drains at 45 to the edge of the tank, then exit at 18” to enter soffit.

Option B drop straight down to swept 90 into horizontal run at 18”

Feel free to take a minute to admire my professional sketching skills.

Probably doesn’t matter. Pick whichever works best for you. Just make sure that the horizontal run has at least some pitch to it. Even 1/4” per foot is enough.

I agree, pick whichever works best for you, I tend to avoid using 45s unless they are absolutely needed myself. But definitely make sure your horizontal plumbing has some slope towards the drain end.

the only advantage i was thinking to B would be the tall vertical pipe and i could place the valve at the bottom before the swept 90.
