I am currently setting up a 120 gallon reef ready from glass cages. The build thread will be started in a week or so. i ordered the tank from GC with a glass ovth three holes for a bean animal style System. I have a couple of questions if anybody can offer advice.
1.. can I combine the three drain pipes under the tank into a single larger pipe. This way I only have to drill one hole thru the wall into the sump in my fish room.
2. When I initially adjust the overflow, how high should I keep the water flow in the overflow.
3. Should I add a small hole in the top of the main u- pipe like in a durso?
Any help would be appreciated.

1) NOOOOOOO
2) the water level in the overflow is mainly dictated by the plumbing in the overflow
3) I'm not sure, would love to find out as mine is currently holeless

1- This kind of defeats the whole point doesn't it? Hard no
2- Subjective... This is a lot of trial and error to find that sweet spot. You want the full siphon completely submerged, the secondary will function like a Durso and the third emergency about a half to 3/4 above the secondary. You hope it never gets wet because it is their for redundancy if the first two get obstructed.
3- yes.

3) The breather hole is not necessary in the u-pipe on primary full siphon line. However, you should have a breather hole drilled in the u-pipe on the secondary trickle line.
