Slow and steady. The tank cleaned up really nice.

I’ve got a couple more fish in qt. Just enjoying the tank and trying not to rush. 5 months in. The pukani rock just needed tlc and time.

Nice, and clean great tank, plumbing, & sump. How are you liking the flow with the sea swirls? I may have missed it but whats the plan for dosing?

Thanks. I like them so far. They don't use much energy. They help break up the flow from the other powerheads, creating a more random flow pattern throughout the tank. I have a large calcium reactor that I haven't hooked up yet. I'm going to start with a kalk reactor and dosing pump (possibly) I think, then move onto the carx when the alk and cal demand increases.

I installed a Phillips Hue Hub and LED strip for under the tank. We need one more for the other side. Alex approved the color.

So I have had the calcium reactor running since Friday night. My alkalinity started at 6.8dkh, and has slowly come up to 7.3. Its been 7.3 for a couple days now. I plan to continue to test every day this week and see where I end up before I make any adjustments. I really don't have a demand in the tank but I am starting to get coralline on the back glass.

The effluent is at full stream. I've got about 1 bubble every 2 to 3 seconds. 2nd Stage is at about 15psi. So far so good.

I need some coral but I need a programmer first for the ATI PowerModule lights. Ugh that is next on my list. Anyone have the ATI PowerModule Hybrid that can help me out if I run into issues?

Oh and the 3 Bimac and 1 Sunset Anthias will be out of QT on Sunday. Any suggestions on fish? I'm not looking for tangs atm.

2x Yellow Tangs
1x Blue Hippo Tang
2x Clowns (Premium Picasso & Midnight)
1x Forktail Fang Blenny
1x Striped Fang Blenny

1x Bimac Anthias

I haven't seen the Rainford Goby for a couple of weeks now but he hides a lot... not sure if Dead or Alive.

I'll be interested to see how you do with the sunset anthias. Very pretty fish but I did not have good luck with one when I tried to keep it.

Wrasses! LOTS of wrasses. Halichoeres and Cirrhilabrus for sure.

I've had it about 30 days so far. Its eating well. They are on their second round of General Cure.

It seems to be doing well and eating quite a bit. I'll keep you posted.

Definitely wrasses... I want to put them through Copper Power and General Cure so I may start with a few of the more inexpensive ones to start as I'm a QT newb. I'd like to get multiples of the same species just not sure what I want. My budget isn't as large as it used to be.

I'd like to get 2 or 3 yellow canary wrasses. Good for pests and hardy. I'd like to find the 50/50 yellow white ones.

I also want some Chalk Bass.

I've had foxfaces in the past and they can't be trusted in my experience. Cool fish though.

Now that the weather has cooled, I may try the Tank Transfer Method on some fish and house them in my garage. My traditional QT in the house is only a 20 gallon long so I can't house too many fish at once. I want to get the nutrients up before I add coral. Currently 0 phosphate and 0 nitrate.

I love it, only issue is with adding the 1/2” thick acrylic all the way around, that affected the height of the overflow boxes and you can see the water line which I was hoping the extra trim would hide. Oh well next time hahaha

FTS from today. I’m starting to get coraline. And no other algae blooms beside the initial diatom bloom. A little hair algae in the very beginning but the yellows made quick work of it.

I made a temp skin with magnets out of expanded pvc. Looks ok for now.

Definitely love chalk bass! Cant go wrong with them! Also I'd give those anthias a nice size shoal. Anthias are definitely my favorite family of fish

I finally had someone help me take my light down so I could install the T5s. I didn't try it before I rehung it. Guess what? Two lamps are out. I'm hoping its just the lamps are bad, or they are not seated properly. I'm really hoping its not a ballast. Moral of the story, try the light before you hang it back up to ensure everything is working. DOH!

I'm tryin to decide if I should buy two more 80w lamps, before I take the fixture down again just in case. My hope is to only have to take it down and rehang it one more time.
