Hey all,

I was wondering, I'm venturing into the world of Becket skimmers and I wanted to know if there was any reason that I could not run these skimmers in a sump.

I've search but haven't found a lot info so hoping the collective knowledge of R2R can help!

Thanks in advance!

Why couldn't you? I made one and ran it in my sump. You just must be certain that you have the water outlet placed near or above the water line in your sump. Essentially it is in your sump but not in the sump water. This might prevent its use due to limited verticle space constraints. You could certainly try submerging within the sump but I would at least, have the top of the box portion not submerged below the sump water line. Theoretically, it should still work fine.

Thanks that makes me feel better, pretty sure I have the space for it in the sump maybe just not out side.

I've had three beckett'ed skimmers...2 MRC's and an MTC. The MTC was actually made for in-sump use. FYI, the best skimmers I've owned. My only complaint....noisy, like a jet engine.
