Was wondering the best way to house new coral is there is any trick or best way of getting the frag off from the wood or rock it's attached too when it's bought from a shop?

Evening

Most keep the coral on the frag plug. It should never be on a piece of wood. There are several different things you can do with the coral attached to the frag plug. There are frag racks and frag rocks designed specifically to put the plugs into that hold the coral in to give it time to grow. Others place them directly in the sand.

If you have experience and are comfortable, I take an exacto knife and pry sps of the plugs and glue onto rock so the encrust on the rock and not the plug.

Ah I see I made the mistake of removing the coral before and it's still recovering I put it on live rock but haven't glued it as not sure if it will survive but I have some new frags I will keep them o. The plugs. Thanks mastiff

Should be okay on live rock, just try to wedge it in or use other rock to support. I keep most of mine "loose" so I can move them when they grow, become aggressive, etc.
