What's going on? I'm looking for the best reef forum to station myself. Been reefin' about 10 years now. I fell in love with the Florida Keys, went snorkeling a few times, and discovered from a coworker that I could put a reef in my living room! I've dabbled in and out constant hobbies but this one has always stuck.
I have a pretty custom set up that I will post a journal on soon.
It's a 29 gallon topless biocube with the back wall removed, an internal overflow box using a herbie system, spilling into a display refugium/sump a mere 9" lower than the reef tank, built on a awesome custom stand!
I also built a DIY reef controller using a Raspberry Pi and the ReefPi software which works flawlessly! I plan to post a good tutorial for a how-to hardware build like the one I have. I have a simplified version with good graphics and explanations already drawn up. My idea is to help those that may feel apprehensive about doing a relay build if the project seems like too much. With just a little handy, it's easy, reliable, and safe.
I heard this forum was becoming the place to be so I look forward to using it as my mainstay and learning from the community.
