been through multiple blooms

Big difference between a heavily stocked well established tank and a new system with minimal biome. My lights run 10 hours in the day and 2.5 hours moonlight but my tank is also well established. I think lights are only part of his problem currently.
I understand your point, but I started this tank with dry rock in front of our patio door and added tiny frags over time. It’s not the light. It’s my opinion, Algae is from high TDS water, dirty tank water, poor nutrients, lack of clean-up crew, over feeding, detritus build up, Poor maintenance & too much iron. Probably a dozen other things. Please know I don’t mean to come across as argumentative. I learned this in the shallow California tide pools with scorching sun, beautiful anemones and sea life and there is no algae.

Totally agree with your post but established biomes are just much more efficient then developing biomes too.

I know the tank has a lot of maturing still. All the corals seem to be doing great now that I can finally see them except that my original clown fish has started trying to host the coral on the bottom right of my tank. I’ve added one small clown and a very tiny yellow watchman no problems.
