Just out of curiosity, has anyone done an ICP and found high levels of metals, used Cuprisorb and then tested again to see its effectiveness?

I found online hobbyist saying that it works and you still can run it with the suspicious of heavy metal. I will be running it as I found magnetic debris in my tank and my corals are slowly dying

I have some on the way that's literally 10 stops away according to amazon. I have high levels of tin (16.21) and im hoping that it works with out stripping some of the other trace elements.

Just got it.

I realize this is a little old now, but since you didn't really get an answer.

I had elevated copper, zinc, and a few others. Cuprisorb did nothing. I initially used Triton's detox with water changes and that slowly lowered it. I decided to give cuprisorb a try and retested and it literally did nothing. Then I went back to detox and water changes and it eventually went away.

Oh wow.... well that sucks. I guess mileage may vary. I just dumped it in my system. We will see what happens

my 2cents... try too an alterantive product. I use the adsorbing spheres of TwoLittleFishes, the Metasorb UHC. It's a polymer compound, shaped as little spheres supplied in a closed net bag. You must put the bag in a good flow zone (in sump). I used some years ago, when my Vectra L1 return pump decided to "explode", breaking the motor body.

When spheres adsorb metals, they will change colors: different color - different metal adsorbed.

To echo the alternative method, I had high levels of tin in my system some how and it was killing my sps. I got some of the metasorb along side my ever consistent water changes and boom everything is bouncing back like wild fire. I did submit another test and the metals were undetectable. Hopefully that helps!! I chalked it up to my salt after inspecting everything that had a magnet in my tank.
