Before I Buy the AI Prime HD

Before I drop $250 on a new Prime (includes tax and neck - forgot name)

Is there any other comparable lights in same Price range? Could be used as Well.

I'd check out a Kessil when you get the chance. Not too sure on pricing as of late...they used to be at a competitive price point. It was started in California at UC Berkeley.

I have the a80 On one of my builds. I like it but I do not believe their competitor to AI Prime is priced anywhere close. Especially not with a $100 controller.

I got a new AI prime on ebay for $200 shipped and spent like $20 on the arm. I think it's a great light and I like how controllable it is.

I have a black one with the bracket I was just going to post for $100. Used a year or two and then just as an emergency back up. Been debating on whether to sell it or not...

Had two AI primes on my 24 gallon for over two years now and never had a problem. Great coral growth and color and I love how easy they are to program and setup. I’d recommend going the AI Prime unless you’re willing to spend more for the EcoTech XR15.

This isn’t really helpful without knowing your tank size. AI Prime is probably the best deal in the game right now tbh. It’s a powerful light with a great spectrum and a built in controller with WiFi. My issue was that I couldn’t stop messing with it.

I actually just put one on my jbj 28g nano. Was suggested to me at lfs over the jbj hood. I hated the hood because it was such a pain to use. So far love the AI. Hopeing the not bright white will help the issues I'm haveing with coral color. Lfs also thought it could help with the receding candy cane issue I'm fighting. The control on it is awsome and the fact that the light can keep a schedule on it's own makes life easy.
