I don’t think I want it, but before I remove it, anyone recognize this growth? Base of a candy cane, new to me frag.

6 yellowish “petals” and it does retract when disturbed. I’m assuming some sort of pest anemone.

Yellow is very uncommon in most anemones, even the pest ones. So I'd hold off a little longer, at least until you can get a better picture, as it might be a coral of some kind.

Yeah, that photo is close to true color. Lights are fairly white this time of day and with an orange filter.

The polyp structure is wedge shaped with a crescent flair.

I have had the frag for a month or so, it’s been like that the whole time. My CBB has opted not to eat it, somewhat surprisingly.

edit: definitely not pointed tips. Does resemble a hammer tip if I was forced to choose. Tiny though, that’s like 3mm
