Hey,
I was wondering what a good beginner anenome would be? Never had one before

Condy anemones are very easy to keep and cost about $15 but they don't tend to host clownfish, I have seen them host Clarkiis every once in a while. If you are looking for an anemone for a clown then green bubbles are pretty good but you have to have good, controlled water, they cost around 30-40$.

I wouldn't suggest a Condy for sure as they sting everything and rarely will host clowns. +1 on bubble tips. Easy as pie ime!

What lighting, tank size, inhabitants and tank age? Different anemones have different requirements.

All depends on tank specs. As far as easiest and desirable nem, mini carpets and rock nems. For hosting nems I love bta, best nem all around IMO. Many colors and hosts all clowns even if not natural hosts.

This is the important post in this thread. Without knowing more about the tank, it won't matter which anemone is picked. In general E. quadricolor is the easiest hosting anemone (( that is not to be taken as they are easy to care for )), but if you don't provide them with the proper conditions, it won't survive.

thanks for the help guys.
my tank is a 37 gallon, its only about a month old. It has two false percula clowns, and a banggai cardinal. As far as lighting goes, it has the terrible stock top fin LED lighting that came with the tank. I can't find specs ANYWHERE. However I know that I should wait to get an anemone, definitely until I am able to upgrade my lights. I am thinking of going with T5's. I'm just planning ahead for the future

If you were to get a nem now, I would definitely suggest a condylactis but if you wait for better lighting and a more mature tank a BTA would do fine.
