What are some beginner corals that are cool looking and not super high maintenance?

Zoas, mushrooms, green star polyps*, xenia*, leather corals, duncans, basically any of the softies.

*make sure these are on an island separate from your main rock structure other wise they will take over.

agree with Zos4me they can xenia can spread even if isolated on there own rock and star polyps need to be isolated on a rock not connected to any rock you don’t want them to take over. They grow quickly too. I would try a toadstool leather they are cool and will grown easily, Duncan’s are cool too.

Before answering, I would ask what your lighting, flow and parameters are. Even “easy” corals need certain requirements. I agree with what’s already been posted, but Xenia and GSP can be a nuisance.
