Beginner learning the hard way

This is my first reef ready tank with single corner overflow..open top (planning on doing a diy screen cover)..over flow has antisiphon tube that has clogged in the past..slows down flow to the sump..yesterday I got home and realized one maybe two of my large snails stuck in the plumbing..drained the overflow only to find the nut underneath is seized..didn't want to brake the plumbing or the tank with no help or spare parts..this was my temporary fix..tg I had a spare large hob overflow and just right plumbing

Agreed...we do what we have to at times. I love the aquascape by the way.

Thank you!..talk about stress and trying not to panic..was relieved and proud of myself at 2 am when I could finally turn the pump on and dial in the flow
