Beginner mistake..did not dip the coral

Thanks for the information. What is the ratio you use for Bayer? I might use Bayer for 15 mins as recommended by many members.

I take the number of ounces of water and double it but use ml for the Bayer.
In other words, if for example you have 20 oz of water, I will use 40 ml of Bayer.
Makes it kinda easy to remember that way.

Nope. And @Maggie321 is using 30 ml per 8 oz of water, so even more.
Like I said earlier, Bayer is very forgiving/easy on the coral. I've accidentally left sps in there for a half hour or more before with little to no affect. Usually I go for about 15 minutes.

I have also used 15ml per cup (8oz) which is closer to your mix. It is very forgiving. But works quite well. Since I have been dipping, I haven't found a hitchiker I didn't intentionally introduce. Some are good. Like speghetti worms and amphipods. The last batch if coral I got, I saved a stomatella snail. Not all hitchhikers are bad.

So then I have a, question as well. I am new to buying corals and I also didn't know about dipping them. I live in Orlando and just today I went to WWC and bought my first acan. Should I be concerned?

WWC no way talk about reputable you would have to be very unlucky to get anything bad after there quarantine process

My tank is cycled and the parameters are good. The corals are doing very well. I was just naive and made the mistake of not dipping. I bought some coral rx and hope for the best tonight.

That was my thought as well. Odds of those corals being affected by bugs IMHO are less than the introduction at such an early stage.

Some might disagree, but again, IMHO A 2 week old tank is not ready for corals, maybe not even fish.

If the tank is only 2 weeks old, I would be more worried about Amonia or nitrate spikes or algae outbreaks than hitch hikers
