Beginning my first salt water tank

Welcome.. it's a fun hobby but you have to give it time. what equipment do you currently have? is the tank drilled or a reed ready tank ? have you started the plumbing? what you want to keep in the tank? fish only or corals? if corals what type ?

I am also starting a 90 gallon build soon and been getting parts together. I am building a sump out of a 30 gallon tank, I bought a 5 stage RODI unit, and everything to get a quarantine tank setup. Quarantine all your fish for 2 months! the kid i bought my lights from lost $900 in fish due to ick and not putting in quarantine.

Read, Read and read some more. Look at the tank cycles decide if you want to do a shrimp cycle or use a product like dr. tims to get started. And finally ask questions... better be safe than sorry. good luck and post progress updates and pics. happy reefing

Welcome to the addiction! My advice would be to read and browse the the interwebs as much as you can. If you cant find your answer ask here on R2R and someone will more than likely be able to help. Also, we like lots of pictures here at reef2reef!
