Hello, my 40g tank is 7 weeks old and starting to grow algae. Started g6 xr30 light acculmation at week 3, ramping from 20% to 50% over 30 days. I do weekly 5g WCs. Filtration is only filter floss and ROX carbon (i have a skimmer i have not added yet). Tank has 2 clowns, a skunk shrimp and a couple coral frags. What do you recommend (nothing, add to CUC, other)

Current CUC:
3 blue leg hermits
6 astrea
5 nassarius
1 turbo
2 certis
1 conch

Params
Temp: 77.5
SG 1.025
Nitrate .2
Alk 7
Phos .04
Ca 450
Mg 1350

It looks fine to me given tank age, I'd continue with business as usual unless your chemistry degrades, then you can do larger water change(s). Maybe a peppermint shrimp to help with the aiptasia.

There is really not a lot you can do other than just let the tank run thru this stage. I would recommend a UV sterilizer and a couple power heads for water movement.

Also get a couple pithos crabs as they will eat bubble and hair algae. Just the tank do its thing.

Normal stuff if we’re being honest, keep those nitrates and phosphates low and they should be gone within a month. Other than that you could lower light intensity if you were really that concerned about the algae growth
