So my mated pair of clown fish have chosen a pot as their nest sight, the female is lying in it with her stomach flat to the bottom, she does not go out of it unless she sees food, is she sick? or is this normal clown fish behavior.

Sounds normal. So she is eating right? Is her abdomen distended. are they about to spawn? Clowns are just really weird. I used to have a clown that laid down flat on my brain coral to sleep.

lol, yeah she is eating, every time I open the hood she comes right to the surface looking for food. No she does not look swollen, she might be cleaning the spot with her body.

I think that might be a bit too much, I only feed mine 2 a day, once in the morning of flakes, and again in the afternoon of frozen shrimp and scallop clumped in a ball dipped in cod liver oil then grated with a cheese grater, (it smells awful but they love it).

I am only feeding a couple of pellets or flakes during the day at each feeding. I feed them frozen or liquid at night before lights out.

oh I thought you meant a palm full 7 times a day, lol
