Can a bellus go peacefully with a Powder Blue Tang and foxface?

Also have fairy & flasher wrasse, firefish, clowns, and Bangai cardinals.

Reef safe? (read conflicting opinions).

Going in our 125. Thanks!

Although they’re peaceful, I see the powder blue antagonizing it for 2-3 days. But who knows- each fish has their own personality

The only potential worry would be the powder blue tang.

Should be. Angels in that genus are plankton eaters.
When yall mention issues with the PBT.... Is that likely just a temporary establishing dominance thing or long term?

The PBT hasn't been in the tank long, but doing extremely well. The foxface and the tang seem to be buddies. They swim everywhere together

It can be either of those things. They are just aggressive fish. It probably depends on the individual.

I would add any other laterally compressed fishes sooner rather than later.

The tang, foxface, and angel would make a great trio.

Bellus and a PBT may not go down well, they have similar body shapes, as well as similar colours. This can result in either Long Term issues or Short Term issues. Either way it’ll be a nasty start for a peaceful fish. Get the fish small and it should only cause short term issues however if she comes in rather large (Similar size as or larger than the PBT) then it will potentially lead to long term issues.
Either way you’re risking tang aggression and a PBT can be nasty, even if it’s not been in the tank for long. Yes some people have luck with them but that’s extremely hard to get. Usually these fish come in and will be aggressive, rarely you get a peaceful one.

My experience with Bellus angels is they are peaceful and reef safe. As others have mentioned they are probably a little too peaceful and can end up being bullied by larger or similar shaped fish. I agree you’re taking a risk adding one to a tank with a PBT. Also I ended up rehoming a magnificent foxface being it was harassing a female bellus.

Might help to get the pbt into an acclimation box if you can to let the angel get comfortable before the tang comes back in.

As far as reef safe, all genicanthus angels are pure planktivores. They lack the mouthparts to graze coral even if they wanted to. They are as reef safe as a clown or damsel and certainly more reef safe than either a foxface or a tang.

I would steer clear of that vendor for fish. Reading too many recent complaints about unhealthy animals and incorrect orders. The Bellus is labeled as reef safe. I had a male swallowtail no issues. Same genus. If u do get the bellus best with the pair. If u get a male and no female is present has the chance of
Reverting back to female. PBT can b aggressive as said. the 6 bimac anthias would make a great display. Also with that many fish added at the same time May overload the PBT and she won’t b able to target a single fish.

I was warned about my Seallowtail going back into a female however he’s stayed as what looks like a sub male. No female has the same markings as mine does so I don’t think these fish actually revert back to female and instead remain as submales if they’re not around other females. He also has the streamers on his tail so it’s strange people say they go back to full females.

Would bimac be OK with lesser feeds?

Wife was set on the bellus but she was also very much wanting to try the anthias.

Or, any other centerpiece/larger fish we could consider?

Entire stocking is:
1 PBT
1 spot foxface
Clown pair
Mellanaurus wrasse
Mccosker flasher wrasse
Fairy wrasse
2 blue chromi
2 Bangai cardinals
1 yellow assessor
1 firefish
1 yellow watchman goby
1 white lined combtooth blenny
1 royal gramma
3 skunk cleaner shrimp
1 fire shrimp
Hermits and snails

Maybe look at a more aggressive Genicanthus angelfish? Personally I love my sub-male G. melanospilos and he definitely isn’t a small fish, he’s probably about 4 inch, possibly 4.5 inch. They can be rather hard to come by though.

If you want a Bellus female, I know TSM has one going through quarantine right now. It's not on their website, but I am gettin 4 females to go qith my male, they have/had five as of a few days ago.

I'd love to, we're just afraid our PBT will harass it to death
