Beneficial bacteria vs proteins skimmer

Will protein skimmer remove beneficial bacteria? I had it running after I set the tank to to help with the cloudy water and calibration of the skimmer then I added the bacteria while it was running. I been reading that’s a no no. Looking for some guidance.

Yes it can especially if you add bacteria while it is running , but who knows how much

its not advised, depending what was causing your cloudy water, which on a new tank I’m guessing it was only sand, you could just empty the skimmer cup back into the tank.

Or buy more bacteria or just wait a little longer, some bacteria would have made it into the tank and it’ll multiply soon enough.
