It was well after 6pm before the tank got to 68°. All I have to say is that water was cold as ****. I couldn't get it any lower. At one point I was out of everything, ice, peas, plastic cooler blocks etc so I put all 20 of my frozen beer glasses into the sump and display and it only dropped it another .5°. That says a lot about volume. So everything is out and the temp is back up to 70.5°. I'm off to bed an will pray everything survives except the red bugs.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. You sound like a trooper though, many people would toss in the towel after all of that. Good luck with the bugs.

Thanks, everything seems to have survived the night including the red bugs :(. I'm planning to rip apart some of the smaller rock structures with acros for a complete dip later this week. I'm going to setup the QT with an LED and starve the display of acros for a month or so. It's not going to be fun.

I can only imagine the pain of that process. My reef is just beginning but I know what its like to tear down a system to try and rid yourself of an issue. Keep your held held high, I'm sure you will overcome it.

Over the weekend I got around to pulling all of the acros out and Bayer dipping them. This 20g will server as "acro ally" for the next 6 weeks. I will be dipping every weekend in hopes of catching unhatched bugs or other pests that may have survived prior dips.

Thanks! If you are referring to the red bugs, there isn't another option for me. Some people live with them and they don't cause any damage. I've lost a few acros this summer and thought it was due to other things but I think this was always the true issue. "This too shall pass."

All I have to say is, Awe inspiring man I just read the thread from front to back and wow... I enjoyed every post and got excited every pic =) anyways i hope everything works out Love the tanks awesome setup and can't wait for more updates. And the one thing I'm seeing more and more as I read and research, is reef keeping is about the ups as much as it is about the downs good luck again man hope the best.

Thank you! It's a lot of ups and downs but as long as you are learning it's worth it. Imagine going through all this just to quit with nothing gained? No way, you have to stick with it and walk away with something. Acros are doing well, just a few more weeks.

Awesome job bro!! Any FTS updates?
