Bentonb's Nano In 90

Well, I'm bummed. Went to my LFS and turns out that they are all out of nanocubes, so I'll have to wait till friday or next tuesday until they get more in :pout: I'll keep this updated as things come in and I get them set up.

Dang that sucks! I don't know about your area, but here Petsmart is clearing out all their biocubes. The 29gal is on clearance for like $189!!

About the cycle I imagine you will be very similar to mine. I am in the contest with a 29gal biocube. I have about 20lbs of dry rock, and a single ~5lbs piece of live rock that went into the tank on 6/10. Yesterday I still had 10-20ppm nitrates so i probably have another week of cycling left. I have been adding Microbacter7 everyday to try and speed it up, but there is only so much we can do.

Just an Update, My coral that I won from clownsandcorals.com came in today I got 7 amazing looking LPS and now I have them acclimating, however since I still don't have my nanocube, (should be coming in to my lfs today, I've already been there once, they said they would call me) they are acclimating to my 10 gallon. The colors are amazing btw  I'll try to get some pictures up once they are acclimated to my tank and are showing all of their glory! Now hopefully I just get a call from my lfs telling me to come pick up my cube...

Hopefully the cube comes in today. Look forward to seeing pictures of the corals you won ;)

Well, some more bad news, tanks are still not in, due to "weather and other factors" they said they would have them by friday at the latest... if they don't have them on friday I'm going to get a refund and go somewhere else. Anyway on a good note I did get my coral into my 10 gallon, I'll attach pictures and since I won them and they were 100 dollars worth, but they were from a sponsor (clownsandcorals.com) they will count as $50 dollars towards my livestock limit. (even though I still don't have the cube in my possession lol I figured you all would still want to see)

Don't worry about winning or losing, it's wether you try our not plus once you get it you will be off to a great start with those beautiful looking corals. Good luck

Beautiful looking corals. Hopefully the lfs gets the tanks in soon. I know how frustrating it can be when you have to wait on something like that and it is out of your control.

have about 25-30lbs of dry sand and 30 lbs of dry rock, waiting for the salt to dissolve before I add my Dr. Tim's one and only nitrifying bacteria.

Congrats on being able to get the tank and getting things started on setting up. Look foward to seeing things move along :D

Ok need some advice guys, I added the Dr. Tim's last night and I added LOTS of it lol like more than quad. the suggested ammount.. (because it can't be overdosed) I just ran tests and this is what I got.

Is it safe to add my frags? and is there any way I could raise my pH a tad?

also here's what the scape looks like (for now)

well went back over to my tests and looks like my ammonia bumped up closer to .5 ppm so I think I'll hold off another day or so.. unless you guys think it would be alright?

I would wait on adding the frags and continue to test. I myself would personally test at least every couple of days if not every day. I would wait at least a week if not more depending on what your test results are.

I would too, but I'm using Dr. Tim's which is supposed to speed it up alot like 130 gallons in like 3-4 days... I figured 28 gallons would be quicker... but we'll see lol

I agree with Barb. You know the saying, only bad things happen fast in reef tanks!!

Ok so I tested again today, and no change... I'll try again tomorrow, But I have a question. When I finally do add my coral and 3 striped damsel, could I add another clownfish? possibly a platinum? or would the clownfish fight? (I currently have a wild caught young false percula) I have no anemone so there is no hosting of any kind currently.. I would like to eventually get a rbta but that will be in the future... my question is could I add a platinum clown safely?

P.S. I will be adding a yellow watchman at some point as well.
