Hi peeps!

Few weeks ago i bought several berghia nudibranches for my 30 g nano, due to immense aiptasia outbreak. Over the last weeks a lot of the aiptasia (big ones) vanished, which is freaking awesome!

Now, from the day ive put the berghia nudis, theyve laid multiple eggs (spiral egg nest), and until today, nothing really happened, two or three weeks the eggs were on the rock and that was it. Today however, i couldnt see any of the eggs inside the nest, not a single.

I am aware of the amphipodes, and how naturally they’re feeding on nudi’s eggs, however assuming that the eggs lasted more than 2 weeks on that rock, makes me think that they were not eaten by amphipode, and that last night they hatched at once.

I tried to search for any hatched nudis, but couldnt really find any.

I’m probably wrong, and theyve become someones dinner last night, but id like to know what is their hatch time?

If it really is a 14-20 days, it could very well mean that there are small nudis inside my tank, which i really hope, as i want to get rid of the aiptasia problem asap.

You don't need extra berghia nudis, they will eat all your aiptasia. Once the aiptasia are all gone the nudis have nothing to eat. Awesome if they hatch, I gave my nudis to a local reefer so they would not die he gave me some zoas and a green monti. jd371 be patient they will do the job, all of a sudden the aiptasia will disappear!

I hope so. I was also thinking of adding some more to my tank but will wait longer and see what happens. Sometimes I want to go John Wick on them with some Aptasia-X, but that's what got me into this mess using that stuff.

aiptasia x wont kill them completely, i tried, but the result were multiple small aiptasia anemones.

The nudi is by far the best solution imo, i would wait a month and see. Have 4 in my 30g and i can see 1-2 aiptasia’s being eaten each night

Yes I had a lot of aiptasia in my 90 gal I put 7 and eventually they ate them all. It did take awhile to see results like 6 months. At first I couldn’t tell, but one day I notice a section of my aquarium that had 10-20 aiptasia all of a sudden they were gone. FYI the nudis are nocturnal so I never saw them, I did get up in the middle of the night and saw them. One day I began to see the nudis during the day which meant there was no more aiptasia in my aquarium that’s when I started to fine someone that might need them and believe me just about everyone that I know have aiptasia in there tanks. ;)

I'm hoping that they are eating the ones out of view and that's the reason I don't see them during the night or the Aptasia numbers receding. It's just so frustrating to see the Aptasia everywhere and especially watching some of them really grow in size, there's two of them that are huge! Hopefully the Nudis take care of the tank so I can move them to the sump next to take care of the ones in the fuge.
