Berghia nudibranch injury?

I purchased 6 small 1/4" berghia nudibranch for my 38 gallon and this companies instructions said to use the pipette to place them. After further reading I wish i would have just placed the whole container in. I digress. From getting them sucked into the pipette as gently as possible after all was said and done, I noticed 5-6 what i would call legs, or the little frilly things on the side of the nudibranch on the end of the pipette. They all seemed to crawl away from where I placed them on the rock. Can they heal/regenerate from injury or did I just waste a bunch of money?

I had purchased several myself and the same thing happened when I sucked them up in the pipette. Multiple little slivers of white pieces fell off each as I put them in the tank. They survived this.

If they were able to attach and crawl to safety, they will live.

@Arsenix2001 Are you Interested in keeping a thread with progress/pics on these guys and your aiptasia? Pretty sure I know which company you are referring to as I’ve been looking at their site. I feel like I have an outbreak on the horizon and may need to buy from them too.

Sure thing. Its not horrible now, maybe 15 that I can see in a 38 gallon, but im sure there are alot more I can see, and im finding new ones every day. Will keep posted on progress. Like I mentioned I introduced 6 into the tank yesterday. This is an area with 5-6 visable. Ive tried lemon juice with very hit or miss luck. And they are popping up on random things like my hob filter. Thisr i may try and keep zapping with the syringe

I ordered some a couple months ago from reeftown, haven't seen them since they went in, but I no longer see any aptasia

I have not seen any nudibranch, however I swear I had 3-4 small aptasia in the area I placed them and now they are gone. However there are still a few large aptasia near by. Maybe the nudis will go after the larger aptasia as they grow. They were only 1/4". So far keeping fingers crossed.

I looked in the tank tonight and checked the photo I originally posted and there are definitely 3-4 aptasia missing. The larger ones still remain.

Update! A rather large aptasia in the area I noticed some missing is gone! They are working, slowly but surely.

Without a doubt, no question about it, they are working. Decimated 3 large aptasia in my blue star polyps last night. These little fellas l, albeit expensive are worth thier wieght in gold.

I've been thinking of buying some of these guys to help with our Aipstasia (our CBB and filefish aren't really picking at them at all). If I can finally find some to purchase that aren't outrageously priced, what happens if they eat all the Aipstasia? Do they feed on anything else or will they waste away and die?

I am delighted to hear they are working for you. Pains me to spend $400+ on something like this but I just did. Delivery two weeks out. Treating a 130g DT and two frag tanks.

Hopefully, they don't all turn out to be wrasse food.

Well i definitely don't want to spend the money on them right now then. I only have a few of them in the tank right now so I've been able to use the manual method and keep it under control so far. Hopefully the filefish and CBB start picking at them.

These work. They work slow, but albeit they work. I bought 12 or so from reeftown, salty underground is another good place i heard of, but were out of stock when i was trying to order.
I have two wrasse in my tank an Ornate and Dusky, and they hide pretty well in all the small holes so the wrasse can't see them as well. I can see a few of mine when i check if im up late at night when lights are out. Don't know if they all made it, but i am noticing a good reduction in aiptasia. Hope they reproduce fast and kill my mild infestation in my 120. Should take 3-6 months from what ive been reading. Ive had them in my tank for 2-3 weeks.
Helps both my wrasse sleep in the sand so they have no chance at seeing them at night since they are nocturnal.
Expensive option, but at least it works.
